Prepaid Metering

Don’t want to pay a large lump sum for your electric bill all at one time? This program allows you to pay for electricity as you need it, and it is a great alternative to paying high-security deposits since electricity is purchased prior to usage.

What is prepaid metering?

Prepaid metering offers the opportunity to pay for electricity as you need it, with a minimum prepaid metering purchase of $10.00. Instead of receiving a traditional paper bill that is generated monthly, usage is calculated daily.

Is there a deposit for prepaid service?

Prepaid customers are eligible to have their deposit waived or refunded and applied toward current energy costs. New customers will pay a connect fee and for the purchase of power.

How do I know when my balance is low?

We encourage all members to use the information received via text message and email to plan power purchases and avoid disconnections, especially after hours. We consider after-hours to be after 5 p.m. on weekdays, as well as on weekends and holidays.

How do I make payments?

Payments can be made in person or by telephone. VISA and MasterCard may be used to purchase electricity over the phone or Internet if the office and your local payment centers are closed.

**Note: To avoid accrual of the basic facility charges, prepaid customers must notify the office and request disconnection of service upon moving.
