What to do if you see a downed power line

  • If power lines and poles are down in your yard or the street, always treat them as if they are energized and dangerous.
  • Never touch them and stay away from objects touching fallen lines.
  • If someone has already made contact with a power line, do not try to rescue him or her. You cannot help if you become a victim.
