Beginning on Oct.16, Roanoke Electric Co-op will make an adjustment in its Time-of-Day rate schedule.
On-peak hours, during which member-owners participating in the program are charged a higher rate for energy consumed, will be 6:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m., Monday-Friday. All other time periods are now considered off-peak, when participants will be charged a lower rate for energy consumed.
“We would like to remind member-owners who already participate in this rate program that we are quickly approaching a change in our seasons,” said Kirby Jordan, the co-op’s vice-president of member services, marketing and public relations. “This means that the on-peak and off-peak schedules will be changing.”
The voluntary program helps member-owners reduce their monthly electric bills by modifying their energy consumption patterns. Participants save on average $35 per month in electricity costs.
