Roanoke Cooperative receives Northampton County Chamber of Commerce 2023 Corporate Business of the Year award

The Northampton Chamber of Commerce recently awarded Roanoke Cooperative (RC) the 2023 Corporate Business of the Year award. The Chamber grants this award annually to area businesses that demonstrate their own operational principles: the advancement of economic, civic, commercial, cultural, industrial, and educational interests to enhance the well-being of local citizens. RC received the award this year for its many services and programs to local communities, including high-speed broadband, scholarships, teacher and non-profit grants, solar, electric vehicle, and energy efficiency programs. The co-op also supports an employee volunteer program called Roanoke Cooperative Gives One Community at a Time (RCG-One). Twice a year, employees choose two community projects in the counties the co-op serves.

“Roanoke Cooperative is proud to receive this award,” said CEO Marshall Cherry. "We are humbled by the recognition for our efforts in advancing local economic prosperity and resilience in rural eastern N.C. We deeply value the collaboration with the Northampton County Chamber, as we firmly believe in the principle of 'A rising tide lifts all boats.' Through our innovative services and strong partnerships, we are dedicated to driving positive change for the entire community."

One of the many ways Roanoke Cooperative gives back to the community is through its employee volunteer program, RCG-One. Employees recently joined together to help clean up the property of a local children's summer camp.
