Co-op’s Annual Golf Classic set for Nov. 15

Roanoke Electric Co-op invites all golfers and businesses to participate in the Third Annual Golf Classic, Friday, Nov. 15, at the Scotch Hall Preserve in Merry Hill, N.C.

The tournament offers participants an opportunity to enjoy a full day of golfing and a variety of friendly competitions, including the Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Putting contests. The event will also feature several raffle drawings for a variety of prizes.

Proceeds raised at the tournament will support the community and economic development programs offered through the co-op’s non-profit organization, The Roanoke Center.

“The mission of the center is to serve as a community and business resource, seeking to enhance the quality of life in the surrounding communities,” said Sondra Dickens, the center’s director of energy/business services. “The tournament is our main fundraiser. The funds allow us to continue providing community members access to technology resources, as well as advancing various economic development initiatives.”

To support this fundraiser, the co-op is also asking local businesses to become event sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities range from $150 to $10,000.
