Co-op Connections Spotlight: Ahoskie Eye Center

Editor’s note: Roanoke Electric Cooperative recognizes the important role local businesses play in our local economy.  They are owned and operated by your neighbors and help build strong communities by bringing growth and innovation to the area.  To celebrate the locally-owned establishments, Roanoke Electric will provide a monthly spotlight, highlighting local businesses that participate in our Co-op Connections Program.

January is full of “New Year, New You” resolutions for a better life. And what better way to ensure a fabulous 2022 than prioritizing mind, body, spirit....and sight.

This month, Roanoke Electric Co-op turns the Co-op Connections spotlight on Ahoskie Eye Care, which is offering member-owner participants 20% off eyeglasses, 10% off contacts, and 10% off eye exams.

“We’re excited to partner with the Co-op Connections program to give Roanoke Electric’s member-owners the opportunity to achieve 20/20 vision for the year ahead,” said Dr. Brad Hauser, optometrist and owner of Ahoskie Eye Care, located in Ahoskie. “Our staff is like a family, and we strive to give our patients that same feeling of warmth, friendliness, and quality care.”

Dr. Hauser says January is a great time for eye check-ups, due to the long hours of darkness. “This time of year, it’s dark when we leave for work. It’s dark when we come home. And deer are in the fields and on the road. Making sure your vision is at its best can be the difference between a safe drive home and a fender-bender.”

As a Winston-Salem native, Dr. Hauser graduated from the Pennsylvania School of Optometry and began his Ahoskie practice on December 28, 1992. Almost 30 years later, he’s still giving back to the community as a local business owner.

Roanoke Electric encourages member-owners to sign up for Co-op Connections by visiting or download the app to take advantage of the savings opportunities from a wide range of local and national businesses.
