Kenneth Jernigan has served on Roanoke Electric Co-op’s Board of Directors since 2005.
A native of Whiteville, NC., Jernigan moved to Gates County in 1973, where he worked for the school system for 32 years. After retiring as director of transportation for the school system, he served as a county commissioner for eight years.
Jernigan said he is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a member of the board. “I have absolutely enjoyed being a part of this co-op family.”
As for the future, he said sees the co-op “moving in the right direction.” He attributes its success to date to the company’s core values. “This is a company that really cares. It always looking out for its employees and serving the best interests of its member-owners.”
