Roanoke Electric Co-op is offering water heater control devices. Which boost energy efficiency and savings, free to member-owners.
Water Heater Load Limiting Program
In order to get additional demand response (DR) and improve the overall load factor of Roanoke Electric Cooperative, the co-op is testing the DR performance and member satisfaction of smart water heater controls. The load management program allows member-owners to assist the cooperative in keeping down its peak demand for electricity and receive a monthly credit of $1.00 on their electric bill. It is a demand side management program that is designed to keep down the cooperative’s peak demand costs. We do this by connecting load management controls to water heaters. These controls adjust your water heater during periods wherein we will need to shed our load.
