Co-op member-owners can receive outage alerts via text
Hurricane season officially starts June 1. When these storms hit, they have the potential to cause major outages. Now, member-owners can easily receive outage updates with Roanoke Electric Cooperative’s outage text alerts.
When an outage occurs, it can be an inconvenience for you and your family. Your co-op’s outage text alerts gives you peace of mind knowing that you won’t be left in the dark without information. These alerts provide updates that include verification that your outage has been reported and restoration updates.
Once you report an outage, crews will be dispatched to assess the situation. When the outage has been restored, we will notify you via text message.
How to sign up for outage alerts
There are three easy ways to get started.
- Call in to the office: 252-209-2236.
- Sign up for alerts through the “Account Login” section of our website
- Text “JOIN” to the short code number 352667.
Reporting an outage
Text “OUTAGE” to 352667.
Select the account number or enter the account number for which you are reporting the outage.
Confirm the service address for which you are reporting the outage.
